Hello from Lake Jennings! Most of the cat action was in Hermit Cove on Friday night and then moved to the Floating Boathouse Saturday night. No topwater all weekend and yet you can see shad at the surface everywhere. Some nice red ears have been eating meal worms and wax worms in 15 ft. of water but no limits. Overall we would say that fishing is just fair.

Best Catfish Spots: Hermit Cove and floating boathouse.
Best Catfish Bait: Night crawlers. Use scent liberally.

Best Bass Spots: Eagle Point and Half Moon Cove in 25 to 30 ft. Topwater if and when you see them boil.
Best Bass Lures/Bait: Drop-shotting 4" worms. Frogs and Pop-R's.

Notables: No fish over 3 lbs. reported.

Prognosis: Remember that we do not open until 5 PM on Friday. The promised hot weather ought to really kick our warm water fish into high gear this week. Also, fishing at night is a great way to escape a hot house.

Water Temperature: Still 76 to 78 degrees on surface.

Current Schedule: We'll be open this Friday from 5:00 p.m. - Midnight, Saturday from 5:30 a.m. - Midnight, and Sunday from 5:30 a.m. - 8:30 p.m.

FREE Fishing Classes Open to the Public!

Lake Jennings Fishing University will hold a fishing class this Sunday at 1:00 p.m. The classes concentrate on what is working best. This week's class will talk about cat fishing. Most importantly, the classes are FREE! Ranger Hugh will be the professor.

Hello from Your Lake Jennings: We have put in a call to Sherlock Holmes. We suspect that Professor Moriarty has absconded with our fish. Dr. Watson concurs. To be sure a few remained, because some were caught, but only a few. A mixed bag it was, and most of the action was down in Hermit Cove. I believe 2 bass were caught on topwater all weekend and yet you can see shad at the surface everywhere. ...... Read More
